Beehive House

Ok so far I am keeping my promise to go and see at least one attraction every week. Last week when I first got here I was able to go to the Beehive house I had some sister missionaries show me around which was fun! It was kind of fast going usually they have a whole group of people to take through, but when I went it was just me. The Beehive house was built by Brigham Young when they moved to the Salt Lake Valley. His family lived there! It was added upon by his son John Young (The name could be wrong). Three prophets lived in that house including Brigham Young himself. (Sorry I can't remember who they were. One might have been George Albert Smith?) Alot of the things in the house were original to the house or original to the time period of Brigham Young. When they traveled across the plains one thing that Brigham brought with him was his Carpentry Tools. And the original tools still reside in the house to this day! Here are some pictures I will try to tell you what they are.

Doorknob can you see the bee? And the Hive at the top?Door to the Beehive house
I think that these could be the original steps to the beehive house I could be wrong since no one actually told me but they do have Brigham Youngs initals and the year about the house was built!
I guess the Young's had a store inside their house that anyone could go to and get things. Including the Indians!

I do not ever remember being told that the Young's had a store. I remember Joseph Smith having some stores, but not Brigham.
The Kitchen of the Young house the missionaries told me that alot happened in this room no one ever left the Young home hungry.

Toys from the time period. They looked awesome!
Light fixture.
Music was important to the saints. It was also important to the Youngs they had a room just for music.

The front Panoramic view of the Beehive house this picture wasnt very good I had a limited area to work with. Sorry that some of the pictures were sideways. I tried to fix them, but it just got messy. Well I hope you liked my small tour of the Beehive house they showed alot more, but we were moving so fast I didn't get many pictures of the inside.
Lots of love and Hugs from Afar,
Meagan
